Mehmet Eren GüL?AN
- , 2019,
Abstract: In this study, mechanical behavior of prismatic and haunched beams which contain high strength self compacting concrete and specified amount of steel fibers is investigated. Totally 8 beams, 4 of them are prismatic and remaining 4 of them haunched, are loaded experimentally for the study. Parameters for the beams are geometry of beams, addition of steel fiber and stirrups. Inclination angle of the haunched beams is nearly 10o. Steel fiber amounts are % 0 and % 0.5 in the beams. Loading tests were implemented via four point loading test. During loading tests, load, deflection values were measured, formation and propagation of the cracks were followed. Experimental results indicate that addition of steel fiber affects both load capacity and deflection capacity of high strength reinforced concrete haunched beams positively. The experimental study resulted that addition of steel fiber has much more effect on the reinforced concrete high strength prismatic and haunched beams as compared to the normal strength beams having similar properties. Moreover, the results show that addition of steel fiber in the amount of % 0.5 or more can be preferred instead of stirrups for the high strength reinforced concrete haunched beams

Abstract:

Acute Type I aortic dissections are fast progressing highly mortal vascular emergencies if management delays. In this particular paper we report a case with a Type I aortic dissection mistreated for first 2 hours as thrombotic AMI, and aortic dissection diagnosis confirmed and treated surgically immediately. 59 years old male patient admitted to emergency room with sudden onset chest pain. Patient was seen by cardiologist and with NSTMI diagnosis admitted to Coronary ICU. With the suspicion of aortic dissection patient was scanned with contrasted thoraco-abdominal CT. Exam revealed subtotal occlusion of ascending aorta by flap of De Bakey Type I aortic dissection. In conclusion aortic dissection should be considered in differential diagnosis of chest pain. Clinical suspicion aortic dissection is key point of diagnosis and immediate confirmation may be life saving.

The relationship between school administrators’ leadership style and physical education teachers’ organizational commitment

International Journal of Human Sciences , 2010,
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between school administrators’ leadership style and physical education teachers’ organizational commitment. The population of the study comprised 291 physical education teachers working in Sakarya and Bart n cities in 2009-2010 education year. In order to identify school administrators transformational and procedural leadership styles, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire 5-x short (MLQ) was used. Organizational Commitment Scale which was developed by Balay was used to measure the organizational commitment levels of physical education teachers (Balay, 2000a & Balay, 2000b). In order to analyze the data collected for the study, several statistical techniques such as descriptive statistical analyses, variance analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used.As a result of the study, according to physical education teachers’ perceptions, school administrators “usually” demonstrate transformational leadership behaviors and “sometimes” demonstrate procedural leadership behaviors. Physical education teachers show lower organizational commitment in the compliance sub-dimension, moderate organizational commitment in the identification sub-dimension and higher organizational commitment in the internalization sub-dimension.When sub-dimensions of physical education teachers’ organizational commitment and sub-dimensions of schools administrators’ leadership styles are examined, transformational leadership has 1-a negative moderate significant relationship with adaptation, 2-a positive moderate significant relationship with identification and 3-a positive high significant relationship with internalization. School administrators’ procedural leadership sub-dimension has a positive high significant relationship with only internalization sub-dimension of physical education teachers’ organizational commitment.

International Journal of Business and Management , 2011, DOI: 10.5539/ijbm.v6n6p134
Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of organizational justice perceptions of public sector employees on the organizational citizenship behavior. Organizational justice includes the perceptions of employees related to the rewards, results, decision making and participation in decision processes. Organizational citizenship behaviors, on the other hand, are the behaviors which are not written in job descriptions, voluntary, not rewarded when fulfilled, not punished when not fulfilled and mostly dependent on personal choices. Both organizational variables have close connections with organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The research was conducted with 83 employees who work for Provincial Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, Provincial Directorate of National Education and Provincial Governorship Services of Karaman. Correlation and regression were employed to analyze the collected data. Regression results up positive relations between procedural justice and contribution to organizational development and taking care of the job; transactional justice and taking care of the job; and distributive justice and contribution to organizational development, self improvement, ownage and taking care of the job behaviors.

Abstract: Li ion batteries have started to become the main power source as batteries that can be recharged for portable electronic devices with an increasing interest nowadays. However, since the graphite used as an anode material in commercial batteries cannot exhibit sufficient performance, alternate quests continue. For this reason, studies are being made for the use of alloyed matrix composite anodes. In this study, composite anode with Sn-Cu matrix is fabricated by pulse electrodeposition and the effect of current density is investigated. Sn-Cu /CNT composites were prepared by electroplating on a copper substrate in a pyrophosphate bath. Composite materials produced were electrochemically tested as anode in CR2016 button cell. The physical and electrochemical properties of anodic materials were investigated using various analysis techniques. According to the results, the Sn-Cu /CNT composite anode showed the best cycle performance in the pulse current (PC) electrocomposite coating with a current density of 80 mAcm-2
Suitability Analysis Parameters for Site-selection in Water-Basin Ecosystems
Mehmet Doruk ?zügül
- , 2018,
Abstract: This study focuses on water basin ecosystems, as an ecologically important ecological unit, where natural resources are rapidly being destroyed by human beings. Each watershed is unique as a result of a complex relationship between the ecosystem elements it hosts. Physiographic, climatic, edaphic, aquatic and biotic elements interact in the watersheds. The sustainability of the basin also depends on the determination of protection and land use decisions that respect the ecological vulnerabilities of these elements. Therefore, land use decisions to be taken for these areas should be based on land suitability assessments according to the sensitivity of basin ecosystems. In this context, within this article it is aimed to clarify the parameters that can be used in the Land Suitability Analysis while seeking the answer to the suitability problematic (for agriculture and residential uses) in basin ecosystems

- , 2018, DOI: 10.1177/0748233717754174
Abstract: 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) is a toxic agent and has disruptive effects on reproductive tissues in females. TCDD disrupts the hormonal regulation of the body and decreases the production of melatonin. In this study, we investigated the protective effects of melatonin supplements against the toxic effects of TCDD on ovaries of female rats. TCDD caused a significant decrease in the average number of corpora lutea and follicles per tissue section (2.1 ± 0.7; 2.3 ± 0.8, respectively), whereas these numbers were maintained in the melatonin supplemented group (5.0 ± 0.8; 5.1 ± 0.8, respectively) and were similar to the control group (5.3 ± 1.0; 5.9 ± 0.9, respectively). Electron microscopic analysis showed that the disruption of ultrastructure components such as cell membrane and organelles due to TCDD exposure was inhibited by melatonin supplements. This study suggested that melatonin has a protective and a possible ameliorative effect over histopathological damage of rat ovaries exposed to TCDD
